A Positive Process For Change |
Saturday, June 2, 2007 |
Sara Orem, a faculty member of Capella University, an accredited complete online university, has co-authored a book, ‘Appreciative Coaching: A Positive Process for Change’. Sara says that this book is geared toward coaches of managers, executives and those who help others by working with those who can be an ‘influence and create change in their organizations’.
Appreciative Coaching describes an approach to coaching that is rooted in Appreciative Inquiry. At its core the Appreciative Coaching method shows individuals how to tap into or rediscover their own sense of wonder and excitement about their present life and future possibilities. Rather than focusing on individuals in limited or problem-oriented ways, Appreciate Coaching guides clients through four stages such as Discovery, Dream, Design, and Destiny that inspire them to an appreciative and empowering view of themselves and their future.
Along with being a faculty member and coach at Capella University, Sara has her own coaching firm as well. . “She has presented programs in Appreciative Inquiry at the National Organization Development Network, and International Coach Federation annual conferences. |
