Every day going to work I see these two crumpled mail boxes on a post in front of I guess two non-lived in properties. Evidently some kids came along and beat up the poor Mailboxes, leaving them quite flat. However, I remember being a kid. I wouldn’t have minded bashing in some Residential Mailboxes, or some Commerical Mailboxes, simply for the fun of it. Yep, those were the days, and boys will be boys.
Now, as a half-way grumpy old man, I don’t appreciate it, but I certainly understand the sentiment. Ha Ha. Anyway, we painted our mailbox in a pot of half of a 55-gallon drum, when I was kid. We painted it this awful yellow color. It must have been some bargain paint. The barrel was filled with dirt and quite heavy. Very hard to bring down, for a non-permanent mailbox. Those were the days.Labels: Blogging, Business, Home and Garden |
