It is a sad reality that not all people have the financial means to provide for their medical needs. Not all of us can provide for a health insurance for our family. That is why we do everything we can to make sure that every family member is healthy. But in cases when a family member gets sick, we can only hope that we can provide everything that he/she needs. Depending on the severity of the illness, the cost of medicines may vary from a few dollars to even a hundred or more a day. But what if the patient needs prolonged hospitalization or even surgery? We can only imagine the amount of money that we will need in such situations.
Fortunately there are institutions and organizations that offer rx assist to individuals who need support. They offer prescription assistance programs to those who do not have the means to purchase the medicines that they need.
Prescription assistance is mainly offered to poor communities. Since charity hospitals accept mostly indigent patients, institutions and organizations look at their records to determine which patients need assistance.
