An interesting question! Hmmm...technically I could do without much furniture (and have), but I think it becomes a question of what would be the optimum furniture (for me). This would have to be a really good chair with decent back support and a table or desk at the perfect level for typing or working. I still have not found the perfect bed and sometimes do better on the floor. As for book shelves, though I have them, I still have piles of books everywhere.
