| As I stare at my crowded bookshelf, I am amazed at how many books I have read and accumulated over the years. That’s decades worth of stories, advice, manuscripts and editorial services crammed into our humble, not to mention, already crowded, personal library. I realized too that my reading preferences have been constantly changing over time. From romances, to chick lit, to mystery, to sci-fi, to parenting, to housekeeping, to self-help—my choices have been varied indeed. Our book shelf also contains my children’s favorite board books, nursery rhymes and bedtime stories. And I could imagine that my kids’ reading materials will change over the years as well. It is interesting that our bookshelf is a picture of how our life has changed all this time. And I am actually excited that we will probably adding more books on the shelf, and a little sad too because that would mean another year has gone painfully fast.
