Author: Joseph Sandoval I have decided to go back to school and earn my bachelor’s degree. Coming out of high school I enlisted in the Navy, and I had the opportunity to travel the world while serving my country for four years. I have decided to go back to school, but I currently have a full-time job. I am planning on earning my degree online. Online degrees have become really popular, especially among military personnel who can work on the degree even as they serve. I wish that I had started my degree while I was still in the service, but hindsight is 20/20. I found some cheap TV and clear bundles once I bought my home, so I do not pay too much for television and internet. I will be working on my degree at home via the internet for the next several years. The classes are flexible, and for many of my classes I never even have to step on a college campus. While this degree may not be as prestigious as a degree from some schools, I will at least have a college degree when I am finished.

You guys probably know just as well as I do how awful the real estate market is right now so that’s why I decided to get into it now. There’s a great little house just a few down from my apartment that I’ve got my eye on and my realtor tells me that they’re due to lower the price any day now so I think I’m ready to jump when they do. I have it all planned out in my head: what kind of curtains I’m going to put there and what Tv by Direct channels I’m going to spring for but for now I’m going to wait it out in my apartment because I don’t want to get too eager and buy before the market hits bottom. My dad’s been in the business for a long time and he tells me we’re close to being able to buy something great for an amazing price so I know I’m doing the smart and mature thing by waiting some extra time to jump on this little house! | World War Two Fighter Pilots |

I've always been a huge fan of documentaries; especially those surrounding the war. One I recently watched on satellite T.V from directstartv.com was about the fighter pilots in the Second World War. I found it amazing to watch as these fearless pilots would fly missions through even the most dangerous conditionsrisking their own lives and safety for the freedom of others. Many of the fighter pilots who were charged with the seemingly impossible task of flying numerous missions were only in their early twenties. They needed to grow up quickly or they may not live too long. As I watched this program I thought about all the men and women who fought during this war; about all the lives that were lost, but the freedoms and new lives that were gained. The photography was surprising clear and vivid even though some of the “raw footage” was taken over fifty years ago. This documentary was a running series that lasted a couple of nights and I looked forward to getting off work and coming home so I could watch all the excitement. What I really enjoyed about this particular documentary was the fact the directors and producers took the time to interview many of the original fighter pilots who are still alive today. | I love taking advantage of Christmastime entertainment on TV, but unfortunately, I think that I've seen every Christmas special that comes on multiple times. So I think that I want to take advantage of a different kind of entertainment and read some Christmas books instead. Before this year, I don't think that I've read a Christmas book since I was a kid, so I didn't really know what I was looking for. Out of all the books that I found when I was looking, I settled on one Christmas themed novel that sounded like it would be pretty interesting. I'm taking my time by reading a little bit here and a little bit there. are actors who are chameleons in moving between roles and then there are actors that are changelings. I'm convinced that Hugh Laurie is part of the latter class. For example, we all know Laurie's performance as House, the cynical jerk with a heart of decidedly tarnished gold. He's ruthless, intelligent, and sarcastically funny and yet manages to engage audience sympathy at every turn. In fact, he has emerged as one of the most complex and dramatic characters on American television, becoming a minor icon in the process. My first encounter with Laurie was via satellite TV from direct tv, through his performances in Blackadder the Third and Blackadder Goes Forth. In both of these programs, he portrays a quintessentially British aristocrat, with a jovial attitude and a plumy British accent; he's a riot. However, if you could manage to look past the fact that the two characters physically resemble each other, you would never believe that they were played by the same actor. That a jolly British fool and a snide American doctor could be portrayed by the same person and with equal conviction is almost beyond belief, at least to me. However, that's what makes Laurie a terrific actor; he doesn't blend or disappear into his roles. He changes into them.

| Our Family's Thanksgiving Dinner Tradition |

Our family alternates where we have Thanksgiving dinner. When it's my husband's family's turn we usually have dinner at my sister-in-laws home. She has the most space to fit everyone. The host will typically cook the turkey and potatoes and everyone else who is invited will bring a favorite side dish.
My husband makes amazing stuffing and that is what we offer to bring. He is good at the cranberry sauce and we often bring that as well. We stuff ourselves on vegetables before the dinner and when Thanksgiving dinner is served we eat Turkey, potatoes, stuffing, ham, rolls and after a few hours of resting our stomachs we eat pie. Pumpkin is the popular choice, but we have other options that include chocolate cream, banana cream and apple.
Our entire family helps in the clean-up process so that it doesn't take very long. My in-laws enjoy the football game so that is on in the back ground. Most of the family has a different team to root for, so depending on who is playing it can become quite noisy with all the commentary about whose team is best.
When we arrive back home we are so full all we can do is lay on the sofa and watch our Direct TV. I usually DVR my favorite shows and that way we never miss them.

| Lunch at the Mall |

My lunch hour is my time to go shopping and socialize with all of the shop owners at our local Galleria. I love taking a jaunt over there on my lunch hour and just being in the old Italian atmosphere. There are nice little cafes and lunch counters to dine at. I can meet friends or just grab a sandwich at one of my favorite shops. I love catching a minute to sit and relax and watch a little Direct tv on my lunch break. After I am done eating and watching the news highlights I wander around and just browse through the beautiful shops. The mall's design is the old Italian marble and stones with high ceilings and lots of windows and brass accents. There are old light fixtures and an old clock in the center of the mall. The shops have planter boxes outside the windows where flowers and ivy are grown. The mall is littered with the old fashioned lamp posts made of stones and trimmed with brass. The walks are all laid with stone. The ceiling is all windows and skylights. They have music piped in that is relaxing and fun. As you can see it is the most relaxing hour spent in a beautiful atmosphere. I treasure the time spend there and it makes me feel wealthy just being there. Thanks for the post from Deborah Kline
