Bohol Island |
Tuesday, February 27, 2007 |
I just set up a new blog about my native land "Bohol".
Bohol is an island province of the Philippines located in the Central Visayas region. Its capital is Tagbilaran City. It is the 10th largest island in the country, securely nestled in the heart of the Visayas. To the west of Bohol is Cebu, to the northeast is the island of Leyte and to the south, across the Bohol Sea is Mindanao. Bohol is a popular tourist destination with its beaches and resorts. The Chocolate Hills, numerous mounds of limestone formation, is the most popular attraction. The island of Panglao, located just southwest of Tagbilaran City, is home to some of the finest beaches in the country. The Philippine Tarsier, considered by some to be the smallest primate, is indigenous to the island.

Adobong Pusit (Squid Adobo)
This is one of my favorite dish. Gusto din ni Lilly nito so I made it once a week now. Sarap naman kasi eh.
Ingredients:
1 Kilo squid
1/2 cup water
1 cup white vinegar
1 teaspoon peppercorn
1 pinch of salt
1 head garlic, chopped
1 medium onion, chopped)
3 pieces tomatoes, diced
3 tablespoons oil
Procedure:
1. Wash and clean squid well, making sure the black tint does not burst as it will give bitter taste.
2. In a deep pan, bring the water to a boil along with the squid, vinegar, pepper and salt until squid is cooked.
3. Take out the squid, set aside.
4. Strain the sauce, set aside.
5. In another pan, saute' garlic, onion and tomatoes.
6. Add the squid and pour the rest of the sauce.
7. Serve hot.

Happy Valentine's Day |
Wednesday, February 14, 2007 |
Pumasok si hubby sa work today so bale nag dinner lang kami sa labas. It was 5 o'clock in the afternoon when we left the house. When we're at the bus stop na malapit sa bahay namin, may aksidente sa may eskena at 2 people died in the scene. Then, when we came back from the restaurant, the ambulance, police car was still there. Grabe talaga as in nakakatakot. Napaka-busy kasi dito sa may street namin at wala man lang "traffic light". Madaming apartments, businesses, etc at di man lang nila nilagyan ng traffic light. Gosh, nakakaloka talaga. I'm always scared pag ako ang nagmamaneho especially pag doon na ako sa eskenang yun. Ang bilis pa ng mga sasakyan (60 mph).
Other than that, our Valentine's Day went smooth! Kainan to the max na naman. Sana tataba na ako lol.
Happy Valentine's Day everyone!

Love Letter |
Saturday, February 3, 2007 |
Grabe, di ko na talaga mapigilan ang panonood ng mga Korean telenovelas. Mas pinapanood ko pa nga kaysa sa mga Tagalog telenovelas. Yeah, bad me but I can't really help it.
Today, I watched Love Letter starring Cho Hyeon Jae (Andrea/Andrew), Ji Jin Hee (Jung Woo-Jin) and Soo-Ae (Eun-ha). This drama revolves around Lee Woo-jin's (Andrea/Andrew) conflict between priesthood and his love for Eun-ha.
Lee Woo-jin, called by his baptismal name Andrea/Andrew is brought up by his uncle who is a priest. Cho Eun-ha also arrives in church a few years later as an orphan. They become best of friends and go through high school together as well as roommates in college. Eun-ha has a crush on Andrea but when he tells her of his dreams to become a priest, she hides her feelings. At college they meet Jung Woo-jin, a boy with the same given name and birthday as Andrea. The two boys become good friends almost immediately, but Eun-ha remains distant from Jung Woo-jin, feeling that he stole her best friend from her. The three form a love triangle with Jung Woo-jin in love with Eun-ha and Eun-ha in love with Andrea. Eun-ha becomes sick and falls into a coma. Andrea takes care of her and one day she wakes up. I really love this movie. It will touch your heart. Love Letter will make you feel the sharpness of one-sided love: when you love someone but they never notice you are truly there... until it's almost too late. Love Letter is about confessing your love, hopes and dreams. Love Letter is about expressing yourself with or without words.
