| Tropical Storm Sendong (Washi) Death Toll Increasing |

Typhoon Sendong or Washi hit several regions in Mindanao on December 17. According to the news, death toll from Philippine storm Sendong rises to 652. Hundreds are still missing as rescue workers look for bodies in the Philippine Sea off Mindanao Island. Officials say contributing factors on the death toll include things like lack of a flood warning and darkness.

| Tsunami Hits Japan Coast |

I was just done reading an article online. Japan tsunami spares major economic zone on Friday. According to BBC, at least 350 people are dead and hundreds missing after a tsunami caused by a huge 8.9-magnitude quake devastated north-east Japan on Friday, March 11. In the video below, you can see that there are some cars in the road. My prayers will goes to all the people in Japan and to those who are affected by the tsunami. Stay safe wherever you are!

| The whole family went to Bremerton, Washington yesterday. We spent the whole day driving around the city. Dear hubby got a new job offer in the Navy Base. The commute is a little bit farther but I just hope everything works well. Work is still work, right? I'm sure it's gonna be a new challenge for him but I know he can do it. Washington health officials have reported six probable cases of swine flu in Washington state. Three of the cases are in King County which includes Seattle, two are in Snohomish County, just north of Seattle, and one is in Spokane County in northeast Washington.
The King County cases involve an 11-year-old Seattle boy, who officials say was hospitalized and is improving; a 27-year-old Seattle man; and a 33-year-old Seattle woman who is a physician, and whose husband and two children have also shown symptoms. They were not hospitalized and are improving.
The Snohomish County cases are a 6-year-old boy and a 34-year-old woman. Additional details on them were not immediately available.
Symptoms of the swine flu are typical of other flu strains including fever, coughing, joint aches, headache, and in some cases vomiting and diarrhea.

| Teen Charged With Drowning Newborn In Toilet |

While checking my email today, I was shocked when I read the news about the teen charged with drowning newborn in toilet. In Port Angeles, Washington, a 16-year-old girl suspected of drowning an infant boy in a toilet and throwing the body in the trash was charged with murder Wednesday. Lauryn Louise Last was charged as an adult with first-degree murder in the death of the infant believed to be her son. According to the investigation, the baby boy died after being born to the girl on or about Dec. 31, and then was put in the trash. She remained in jail in lieu of $500,000 bail with arraignment scheduled Friday. She faces up to life in prison if convicted.
How could she kill such an innocent baby? My goodness, I can't believe why there is such a heartless people out there.Labels: News |

Hannah Montana stars Miley Cyrus wants to get inked. Some of you probably wondering Does Miley Cyrus have a tattoo? I read some articles online and she might consider getting one in the near future. She's only 16 years old. In most states, they require you to be 18 to get a tattoo. You can't get a tattoo when you're below 18 without parent's permission. In that case, she can't get it until she's 18 years of age.

| John Travolta's Son Jett Died In Bahamas |

John Travolta's teenage son, Jett died after apparently hitting his head on the bathtub while the family was vacationing at their home in the Bahamas, authorities said. Jett Travolta, 16, was last seen entering the bathroom on Thursday and had a history of seizures, Police Superintendent Basil Rahming said in a statement. A house caretaker found the teenager unconscious in a bathroom late Friday morning. He was taken by ambulance to a Freeport hospital but pronounced dead. According to the police officer report, who declined to be named, Jett apparently hit his head on the bathtub. Preston and Travolta have said that Jett became very sick when he was 2 years old and was diagnosed with Kawasaki disease, an illness that leads to inflammation of the blood vessels in young children.

Oh my gosh, I can't believe it! Manny Pacquaio won against David Diaz. I stayed up late tonight just to find the result since I didn't have a chance to watch the Pacquaio vs Diaz fight on TV today. Pacquiao wins by knockout. During round 9, Diaz’s face is a mess as the round starts and Pacquiao resumes the assault. Pacquiao lands a three-punch combination to the head. Diaz throws a left and a right, which Pacquiao blocks with his gloves. Diaz simply can’t land much. Straight left by Manny snaps Diaz’s head back. Diaz’s left eye is blackening and closing quickly. Pacquiao circles and flicks a couple of jabs. Right hand inside followed by a left sends Diaz down face first. The ref doesn’t even bother to count and waves off the fight at 2:24. Hooray! Another victory to Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao. Mabuhay ang mga Pinoy!

I just set up a new blog about my native land "Bohol".
Bohol is an island province of the Philippines located in the Central Visayas region. Its capital is Tagbilaran City. It is the 10th largest island in the country, securely nestled in the heart of the Visayas. To the west of Bohol is Cebu, to the northeast is the island of Leyte and to the south, across the Bohol Sea is Mindanao. Bohol is a popular tourist destination with its beaches and resorts. The Chocolate Hills, numerous mounds of limestone formation, is the most popular attraction. The island of Panglao, located just southwest of Tagbilaran City, is home to some of the finest beaches in the country. The Philippine Tarsier, considered by some to be the smallest primate, is indigenous to the island.
