Wonderful Collection Of Zurich Art |
Monday, May 23, 2011 |
Perhaps the most famous representation of Austria was made in the critically-acclaimed, world-renowned movie musical, The Sound of Music. Although the setting was during the pre-war and post-war Austria, people have always thought of Austria as a wonderful place, thanks to the songs in the movie and wonderful performances of Julie Andrews and Christopher Plummer and of course, the adorable Von Trapp kids. They featured the cityscapes and also the countryside in this wonderful, heartwarming movie.
Meanwhile, the capital of Austria, which is Vienna came to be known worldwide because of their floating lifestyle and gondola rides. Whenever you get to see a scene with a guy paddling a boat with lovers sitting on it, you would surely associate this setting to romantic Vienna. Even Las Vegas and Macau have recreated these scenes in a couple of their casinos. It one of the most famous casino settings in these places!
Not to be left behind are the vienna restaurants that surely offer the best-tasting meals. It is no wonder that many restaurants have sprouted all over the world with the word Vienna in their brand name. And there is also a chain of Vienna coffeehouses all over the world that also offer franchises! So if ever you visit Vienna, do not forget to sample their local cuisine. Do not go to internationally known fastfoods because you can eat there anywhere. But sample the local tastes of Vienna and you will surely be delighted.
While in Vienna, you may also want to visit neighboring Zurich so that you can revel in the wonderful collection of Zurich Art. There is just so much to explore in Zurich if you are on an art trip because many world-renowned artists come from here. If you are into the appreciation of art, then surely you would not miss a stop for an art zurich trip in any one or two of their famous museums!Labels: Arts, Blogging, Food, Travel |

Christmas morning breakfast casserole |
Friday, December 31, 2010 |
Last year when we went to my parents' house for the holidays, my dad made this really good casserole for breakfast and served it to use while the kids were seeing what Santa left them under the tree and in their stockings. It was pretty good, especially a whole lot better than the standard bagel or English muffin that I always eat for my normal breakfast. Well, I thought that the idea was so great so that I got the recipe from him to use on special occasions. But, I kind of lost it somehow over the past year and I had to e-mail him with my Clear Wireless Internet to get it again. Even though Dad and Mom are coming to us this year, I'm going to fix the casserole and let them relax. At our house, our big Christmas meal is actually going to be Christmas Day dinner, so I think it will be even better to fix that Christmas morning breakfast casserole ahead of time because right after I see the kids open up their gifts, I'll probably have to start cooking. Chicken Creole |
Thursday, January 25, 2007 |
My mother in law knew that I was into Chinese foods and she gave me 3 Chinese recipe books as a Christmas presents. We're both into cooking and was so happy to have those recipe books. Well, I am a chicken lover and I prepared "Chicken Creole" during our daughter's first birthday and it was so good!
Ingredients: 4 medium chicken breast halves, skinned, boned, and cut into 1-inch strips* 1 can (14 oz) tomatoes, cut up 1 c low-sodium chili sauce 1-1/2 cup green peppers, chopped (1 large) 1/2 cup celery, chopped 1/4 cup onion, chopped 2 cloves minced garlic 1 tbsp fresh basil or 1 tsp dried 1 tbsp fresh parsley or 1 tsp dried 1/4 tsp crushed red pepper 1/4 tsp salt
Instructions: 1. Spray a deep skillet with nonstick spray coating. Preheat pan over high heat. 2. Cook chicken in hot skillet, stirring, for 3-5 minutes, or until no longer pink. Reduce heat. 3. Add tomatoes and their juice, low-sodium chili sauce, green pepper, celery, onion, garlic, basil, parsley, crushed red pepper, and salt. Bring to boiling; reduce heat and simmer, covered, for 10 minutes. 4. Serve over hot cooked rice or whole wheat pasta.
* You can substitute 1 lb boneless, skinless, chicken breast, cut into 1-inch strips. * To cut back on sodium, try low sodium canned tomatoes.
Yield: 4 servings--Serving Size: 1-1/2 cup Each serving provides: Calories: 255 Total fat: 3 g Saturated fat: less than 1 g Cholesterol: 100 mg Sodium: 465 mg
